Fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS) are composed of short fructose chains and belong to a carbohydrate group known as oligosaccharides. They offer a subtly sweet taste and are low in calories. Since FOS are nondigestible, they do not impact blood sugar levels. Moreover, they provide several health benefits. Primarily, FOS serve as a low-calorie alternative sweetener, allowing people to consume products made with FOS instead of sugar, which can raise glucose levels and contribute to weight gain. FOS are often preferred over artificial sweeteners, as some of the latter have been associated with issues like weight gain and diabetes. Derived from sucrose through enzymatic processes such as concentration and drying, FOS are available as a finished white powder. Known also as Fucto-oligo, they bypass digestion and absorption in the human body. In the large intestine, they quickly foster the growth of bifidobacteria and other probiotics, earning them the nickname "Bifidus Factor."

Encourages the growth of Bifidobacterium
Reduces bloating and gas
Enhances intestinal function and prevents constipation
Boosts immunity and aids in disease resistance Supports mineral absorption
Prevents tooth decay and decreases the incidence of oral ulcers
Promotes healthy skin and lowers blood fat levels
APPLICATION:
Fructo-oligosaccharides possess a range of exceptional physical and chemical properties along with beneficial physiological effects. Known as a modern, health-promoting sugar, it offers nutritional benefits, promotes wellness, and has therapeutic uses. Products enriched with fructo-oligosaccharides are increasingly favored by consumers. Currently, oligofructose finds extensive application in various industries such as dairy, health, functional beverages, confections like candy, biscuits, breads, jellies, animal feed, medicine, beauty products, and more. In Japan, it serves as a bulking agent, sweetener, flavor enhancer, and humectant. Similarly, France has authorized its use as an additive in pig and rabbit feed.
