Polydextrose is a soluble fibre  and a premium low-calorie bulking agent used to provide body and texture in reduced-calorie and  low-calorie foods. It can replace all or part of the sweetener solids in those foods and can also  replace full caloric bulkings agents. It is a water soluble, randomly bonded, bulk polymer produced by  thermal polymerisation of glucose containing about 10% sorbitol.
